Trezeguet, David ( 1977 -), French soccer player, double winner of the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000, one of the finest strikers in Europe in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Born in Rouen (Seine-Maritime) an Argentinian father had evolved into the First Division Championship in France, David Trezeguet begins his professional career in Argentina at the age of 16 years and it then evolves in the Platense club, with whom he played just five games. The experience is however beneficial to the young striker, who joined France and AS Monaco in 1995 after a trial judged inconclusive at Paris Saint-Germain. During his first two seasons Principality of Monaco, David Trezeguet be discreet and record any purpose. However, the club won the Championship of France in 1997 and thus participates in the prestigious Champions League (see European Cups).
Fast, powerful and opportunistic, David Trezeguet is rapidly becoming a center forward particularly feared for his innate sense of purpose and its exceptional technical capabilities that enable it to be effective in all circumstances. Undisputed holder at the forefront of training, he meets Thierry Henry in succession then the Italian Marco Simone, these two associations are particularly prolific. During the 1999-2000 season - his last at AS Monaco - David Trezeguet wins second title of champion of France.

The European Nations Championship, co-hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands, is a turning point in his career, decided to emigrate since the end of the competition and sign for Juventus. Its performance is satisfactory immediately (14 goals in 25 games) alongside Zinedine Zidane and Alessandro Del Piero, it allows Juve finished the 2000-2001 season at the 2 e place Calcio.
The following season, in 2001-2002, the club allows itself its 26 th national title and dispute the final of the Coppa Italia, thanks to David Trezeguet, scorer Championship (24 goals) and elected Footballer of the Year in Italy by professional players. David Trezeguet is retained in the France team for the first time in January 1998 during the first game the Blues played at the Stade de France against Spain. Holder of 43 caps in July 2003, he scored 22 goals in the tricolor jersey.
At the 1998 World Cup, he must settle for a locum tenens. In 2000 however, his participation in the European Nations Championship (Euro) is more important and decisive impact on the final victory of the French selection. Chosen by Roger Lemerre to return during a match in the final against Italy, David Trezeguet enrolled in fact the "golden goal" that allowed France to win its 2 e international competition consecutively.
With an impressive track record in the league as a team from France, David Trezeguet hand holds the position of center forward - its "lining" is the revelation of the Championship of France 2002, Djibril Cissé - to compete in the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan, Les Bleus were eliminated, however, to the surprise of the first round of the competition.
