Yosip Skoblar

Skoblar, Yosip (1941 -), Yugoslav football player, best scorer in the Championship of France in early 1970.

Josip Skoblar was born in Privlaka (now in Croatia). He began his career in Zadar in 1956, then was transferred in 1959 to OFK Belgrade, with whom he won two Cups of Yugoslavia (1960 and 1966). Moved to Hanover (Germany) in 1966, he was immediately loaned a season with Olympique Marseille, before being finally transferred in 1970. Champion of France in 1971 and 1972 winner of the Coupe de France in 1972 (he scored a goal in the final), Josip Skoblar was the top scorer in the Championship of France in 1971 (44 goals), 1972 (30 goals) and 1973 ( 26 goals), before finishing his career in Rijeka in 1976.

He scored a total of 244 goals in the first division (including 151 in France). He was selected 32 times and scored 11 goals for the team of Yugoslavia with which he played a semi-final of the World Cup in 1962.
